Safeguarding within the Forest Group is the collective responsibility of all. We are committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of all children and young people in our care. Safeguarding is not just the role of one organisation or one person in an organisation, but the responsibility of us all, all of the time.
We maintain a proactive Safeguarding culture focused on earliest intervention. This is the most important work we do, and the work is never finished in Safeguarding and Child Protection. We exercise professional curiosity, and we pride ourselves on recognizing and knowing what to look out for in order to keep children safe. We want to encourage them to talk openly and enable them to feel confident that they will be listened to, and this is why we provide them with opportunities to discuss issues and report problems affecting their safety and wellbeing. We are alert to the signs of abuse and neglect and follow our procedures to ensure that all children and young people receive effective support, protection and guidance in order for them to feel safe.
Safeguarding and Child Protection Policy
Our priority is to create a safe, supportive and inclusive environment where children are safe and secure whilst ensuring they are known, liked and valued.
All members of the Forest Group community are considered Safeguarding Partners. This includes parents/carers and pupils. We all understand our collective responsibility in passing on Safeguarding information to keep ourselves and others safe.
In line with Keeping Children Safe in Education at Forest we maintain an attitude of “it could happen here”.
We follow robust safer recruitment practices in line with statutory guidance.
