Wednesday Morning Music Practice
A lively start to our Wednesday morning! Ms Fourie started by waking us up with her Jumping Bean routine – the children were jumping beans, chilli beans, runner beans or frozen beans! Watch a short clip below:
Mrs Phillips then started off today’s music with a thorough warm up. We sang our way through four different warm up songs, ‘Swing Low Sweet Chariot’, ‘Tumba’, ‘Jamawale’ and a blend of ‘Swing Low..’ and ‘When the Saints’ Mrs Phillips sectioned it into Teachers, Girls and Boys singing separate parts. In the words of Gary Barlow, it sounded ‘absolutely fan-tastic’!
We then put our hymns to practise and today, we sang the beautiful ‘Colours of Day’ one of our favourites, a hymn we’ve been working on for a while ‘Be still, for the presence of the Lord’ and we also started on a new hymn ‘Dance of the Lord’, today we learned how the chorus sounds and tried to learn the words off by heart.
