Science Day

We had Science Day which was a great success.  Nursery and Reception spent the day looking at dinosaurs. They were making volcanoes, finding dinosaur bones in sand and making their own fossils. Year 1 and Year 2 went on a minibeast hunt into the forest. They made minibeast hotels and spent lots of time on the search for bugs. Years 3, 4, 5 and 6 spent the day looking at the heart and how to keep our bodies healthy. They spent time doing a circuit of activities to see if physical activity had an effect on the heart rate. Years 5 and 6 were all given the opportunity to get a hands on experience with the heart. In the afternoon, the children in years 3, 4, 5 and 6 spent time looking at an artist called Dan Cretu. They used his artwork for inspiration to make their own fruit sculptures.
