Music Assembly
A fantastic Wednesday morning Music Assembly with Mrs Phillips and also, the help of Ms Fourie who showed us a brand new song. It is tradition to sing ‘Happy Birthday’ to our teachers when it’s their birthday, so Mrs Phillips and Ms Fourie thought it might be a nice idea for us to learn a brand new birthday song which we can sing to all the children who’ve had their birthday in that month!
We started with our warm up song, ‘The Whole World’. The warm up has us singing in rounds, we must remember our half of the song – it sounds great!
We then learned our new Happy Birthday tune and moved on to a song we’ve been practising for a while now. ‘Shalom’ is a song about peace and tied in nicely with the recent Jewish festivals. We tried working through an ostinato, which we have learned is a repeated pattern!
